mouseover popup callouts

Aug 02, 2011

hello,

i'm trying to do callouts (or any other autoshape) popup on mouseover in PPT 2010.

i use Hyperlink and action buttons but for unknown reason it doesn't work at all.

How can I make a mouseover pop up which work in PPT and supported on articulate presenter ?

Not in studio, you can buy a widget that will do this from elearning enhanced, or you could do on click popups using hidden slides

such as this http://community.articulate.com/blogs/jeanette/archive/2010/11/16/creating-a-clickable-pop-up-effect-in-your-course.aspx

Studio does not support mouseover effects, sorry

Hi Barak - Do you have Articulate Engage? If so, perhaps an Engage Labeled Graphic would give you the flexibility you're looking for, since it does feature a rollover effect. You can insert a Labeled Graphic right into your course as one of your course slides. This blog post gives some ideas for ways of using a Labeled Graphic, along with some published samples you can view.

Another way to leverage a Labeled Graphic's mouseover capabilities is to allow your PowerPoint slide master to show through behind the interaction, which makes it appear as though the Labeled Graphic's markers are placed right on top of the slide itself, rather than within the Engage interaction. If you're interested in exploring that effect, check out this blog post.

Hi

Here is a workaround that only involves Articulate Presenter and PowerPoint.

I am currently working with PowerPoint 2003, and I don't know if this solution will be good with PPT 2010, but it might be worth trying:

In a separate PowerPoint file, make a set of slides, the first one with the "clean" content, and extra slides for each PopUp event.

Define relevant sensitive areas and use Action Settings "On Mouse Over - Hyperlink to ... " to jump between the slides in this file.

Then create a folder with a meaningful name, and save your file as a Web page, named index.htm
NB: Do NOT use the "single file web page format" (.mht)
- it must be the "proper" .htm format that creates a sub-folder with some stuff in it.

Finally go to your "master" PowerPoint file, and use Articulate's "Insert Web Object" feature to activate the index.htm file.
