Need a Narrator?
Feb 28, 2012
I'm looking to get into freelance narration and voice overs and wondered if anyone here can help me out. I've done a lot of narration for my own courses but never outside that. If you're willing to give me a shot, here's what I can offer:
1. Cheap - If you're course is 30 minutes long, I'll charge $50 to narrate all of it. An hour long, $100. I don't want to make a living on it, just some extra cash.
2. Easy to work with - I have my own recording studio already and have been recording music for almost 20 years. I am a skilled editor so it will sound good, I can edit out all the breaths, pops, and lip smacks, and I can edit the files any way you want (one file per slide or one whole audio file).
3. I can also do voices, foley style sound effects, or create original background music (I'm a musician as well).
Here's a narration sample:

If you're willing to try me out, just let me know! I love doing this stuff!
Thanks,

Do you record audio books? I am the author of 23 books, one of which is #2 on Amazon's hottest new hard science fiction books. I am looking for someone to read and record by books.
I've never done an audiobook but I would love the opportunity. I'm a huge
fan of Star Wars audio books and their narrator Marc Thompson and really
enjoy the different voices he uses and the use of music and sound effects
(two things I also do).
So, I would be very interested in doing this if you want to talk details
and possibly have me try out a sample for you.
Thanks,
Dale Hargis
Dale, thanks for the fast reply.
Yes, I'd like to hear a short sample of your work. The attachment is a sample chapter of book ten of my series. If you want to read all or part of it, that would be great.
But before we get too far along, I would like some idea of what you think it would cost me to do the project.Would you consider doing it for a percent of the profits on the first book, just to see what might happen?

Sorry, I didn't get an attachment (probably due to the email going through
the Articulate site). Here is my direct email:

If you can get me the sample, I'll read it by the end of tomorrow and have
it to you. After that, we can talk more if you're still interested.
Thanks,
Dale Hargis
John,
Just checking back in with you since I didn't hear back from you with the
sample for me to read. If you want, I can just pull a sample from Amazon
and read some of that for you. I think this would be fun!

I'm sorry, I had sent something back after that because an attachment
didn't come through. Feel free to email me directly at tdhargis@gmail.com
in case the Articulate Community's system is stripping out the attachment.
Thanks,
Dale Hargis
Did you get the sample chapter?Any opinions?Still interested?
John
