I have a number of screens with animated content and an audio track. The customer wants the ability to pause the audio (it will run automatically) if required. However they don't want the progress bar shown in the Seek Bar.
Is it possible to show only the Play/Pause button?
You can not have the play/pause button without the seekbar, but you can add a button in the screen (not in the player) that loads a lightboxed slide that says 'paused' on it. When closed, the timeline will resume.
To clarify Helen - they want to pause both the audio and the animation right?
Another option is to include the seek bar and just make all of the colors blend in the player settings. I don't think this is as ideal though because if the customer rolls over that area where the seekbar is, it will still be "clickable".
You'll have to do this without the player, removing the seek bar and adding a lightbox as Paul said. I would find that this is the most effective solution for the issue. It also allows for the creation of a nice pause screen.
Hi Helen! Are you working in Studio or Storyline? If you're using Storyline, you could also use a layer to pause the content on the base layer. You could include a pause button on the base layer which toggles to a play/continue button on your layer. There is a check box in the Slide Layer Properties for "Pause timeline of base Layer"

Awesome idea Paul!

Many thanks Mike, I knew that there would be a simple answer
I'm working in Storyline so the layer would work very easily :)
Once again thanks to all for their ideas.
