I'm seeking some 'ID 101' resources to learn from - nothing too heavy. Just concise, clear pointers - similar to the e-learning resources on this site.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd be much appreciated.
When I was new to instructional design there were a couple of really good books I read. There are a lot of suggestions for books on the forum here. I also found lots of useful resources online. Kineo has a lot of good guides and Learning Solutions Magazine has a big library of in-depth articles. There are many other blogs/websites that you might find helpful.

Hi Jahn!
Have you checked out the e-books on this site yet? They're here and may be helpful!
Keepin' the joy,
Patti
Thanks Patti. I've steadily being going through those.
I'm seeking more in the way of advice/ resources regarding content - best practice etc - as opposed to the visual design.
Here are three books I found impactful in regard to how I design courses and really understanding some basics of the field.
Design for How People Learn - Julie Dirksen
The Accidental Instructional Designer - Cammy Bean
Leaving ADDIE for SAM - Richard Sites & Angel Green
They are all pretty straight forward and focused on the application aspects.
