I just entered the latest eLearning challenge this morning and realized (because of the new website) that the people who previously commented on the boards are no longer receiving emails informing them of new comments.
I like to see what others ideas and I like to get feedback as well, collaboration is a great thing.
Everyone is encouraged to make entries to past challenges, but if you do now, no one will even know about it and you won't get any feedback, so what's the point?
I miss private messaging too. I don't use it often, but I tried to use it today and couldn't find it : (
We did carry forward existing subscriptions to the challenges and other articles, forums, and discussions from the previous site. Users who were receiving email on new activity should still be receiving them from the new site. I will investigate whether we missed some, but that was certainly the intent.
Thanks for the feedback on private messaging. We're listening.
Linda - I just went back to eeeeeeevery single challenge (all 55) to be sure I was still subscribed to them, and though there might have been a couple of exceptions (maybe my own doing at some point?) they were all intact.
What I gave you was the old link - I've got 50+ others just like it that redirect (on your site) to the different challenges. All I'm saying is that the redirect for that one - unlike all the others - is faulty. The other brand new site redirects work just fine.
No biggie - just trying to help. :). I did find the proper new page address and updated my stuff no prob.
Thanks for looking into that Jackie. Are the links automatically updated, or do you need to do something to transfer the updates over.
Brian please transfer the bookmarks to the new website, I'd hate to lose everything that I saved and couldn't even begin to remember what they all are.
Also....I really only want to look at "Recent Activity", and when I close an article it returns me to "Your Picks". Could you please make it return to a place of our choosing?
Nice layout for the new forum but I think fonts are too big and make it look like a blog, which is fine for reading short articles but not so fine for numerous answers.
Plus I miss the Yours link that showed the last posts to your discussions (so you could check if there were new posts at once) instead of showing your posts in discussions as Your Contributions now does (you don't know if there are any updates to those threads).
Agree - far too much white space and big text in the "Support" section. Fine for the Tom sections etc. but makes the rapid assimilation of what's going on very hard.
One other thing I have noticed is that you cannot "Quote" someone, and partially delete text. It selects the whole lot no matter what you do, and sometimes you only want to include/quote a couple of lines for example.
I agree with Pierre (and Bruce, I now see) about font size. Seems far too large and makes it very difficult to scan content.
Add that to the very limited number of comments per page, and again - as I brought up in another thread about the challenges - it becomes time consuming and laborious to get through it all.
This is also true on mobile devices. As with the full site, I get tired of struggling to get through it all and leave far earlier than I'd intended.
The content here is, as always, so fantastic I want to linger and explore. It just needs to be a faster and easier reading and navigation experience.
So +1 on smaller fonts. (And - ideally - infinite scroll for comments.)

Hey Bruce - try this. Select some text and then you'll see a "QUOTE" tooltip. Click that tooltop and it will only quote the selected text.
This is as opposed to clicking Quote under the post which selects the entire post text.

I can see on my profile that it says I've made 1 contribution but I'm sure I passed the 500 mark before the revamp of the website. I know it sounds a bit silly but I liked being able to see how useful (or not) I'd been making myself
Now that you mention it, mine shows fewer than I had before too. I'm pretty sure I had over 800 before the changeover, so I'd guess 25+ went missing. Nothing like your disappearing 500 though!
Mine are down as well. I don't think any posts made in the beta test forums were transferred over and I wonder if the posts made to the Community blogs were ported over.

Another thing I've noticed missing is all of the favorites I've bookmarked over the past few years. Can't find them anywhere...

We are looking into moving previous Favorites into the new Bookmarks.

Brian - Since you're right on top of this stuff, I was checking every link on my own site that directs back to David's challenges. I found one link whose redirect doesn't work properly. Just sent it to David, but I'll share with you too: http://community.articulate.com/blogs/david/archive/2014/03/21/-visual-storytelling-photo-collages.aspx
Hi Jackie,
I think that link has a typo in it. I found that challenge here:

ps thanks for saying I'm on top of things! Running on fumes at the moment.
Hi Brian - Hang in there!! You're doing great. :)

True for Quote, noticed it yesterday.
Thus I won't/can't quote you (Bruce)!

Perfect Adam, thanks!
Indeed it is. Thanks Adam - not obvious until you do it though.
I posted about that HERE.
The loss of that feature is particularly frustrating to me.
Is anyone else missing their 'how many contributions I've made to the forums' counter? Or is it hiding somewhere and I just haven't found it yet?
Hi Harri - I'm only seeing it on individuals' profile pages.
Hi Jackie,

I'll bet you're right about the beta contributions, Nancy.
That is correct. We did not bring forward the beta forums and therefore contributions made there do not count in the current totals.
Hi Bruce - did you notice that you can drag a selection around a block of text to quote? It seems to work really well.
So that's what I get for not reading through all the replies, first:-)
