Previous drag item to reappear when the next drag item is selected

Aug 14, 2020

Hi community,

I have created a drag and drop interaction. There are four images labelled 1 to 4. When image 1 is dropped over a drop area, content appears on the side. When image 2 is dropped over the same drop area, another set of content appears on the side.

When image 1 is dragged and dropped, it disappears from the scene. When the next image is dragged and dropped, it also disappears. But, I would like the learner to be able to drag image 1 again later. How do I have the previous drag item to reappear at its position, when the next drag item is selected?

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried using the motion path, but I found it little complex. Then, I tried using another approach by having all the images 1 to 4 except one image in the layer for each Step. For example, in the layer for Step 3, I have image 1, 2, 4 on this layer. It seems to work except for one problem, which I am not able to figure out. When I drag image 1 to drop area, layer 1 appears. Then, I drag image 2 to drop area, layer 2 appears and image 1 appears as desired. But, now when I drag image 1 again to drop area, layer 1 appears  but image 2 doesnt appear. I am attaching the story here. Could I know what is the problem? Thanks

Looking at the behavior, my guess is that because you have a number of duplicated shapes, for some reason, the previous version of the shape in the layer is not resetting, as if the module is hanging onto it. You can contact support@articulate.com and have them look at it.

Here's another way to do something similar which requires fewer objects. This seems to work, and is easier to build.
