Saving and importing Studio audio file?

Feb 12, 2018

I'm an Articulate newbie, teaching online college courses. I have been using OfficeMix but really like Articulate, although Storyline is hard for me. So I created a PowerPoint presentation and added narration using Studio. I did this by clicking the "Articulate" tab on top of the PowerPoint ribbon, signing into Articulate, then choosing Studio. The slides look good and the narration sounds fine.  Now I would like to: (1) convert to MP4 or other file, (2) create a YouTube video and link, OR (3) upload as a narrated presentation to Canvas LMS. I followed Canvas instructions for importing SCORM non-assignment/discussion/quiz file but that didn't work.

Hi Shana. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Glad you're enjoying Articulate Studio. Hopefully you'll find the resources here helpful for getting up to speed on Storyline as well.

Articulate Studio cannot be published to MP4 format. However, Articulate Storyline 360 does give you the option to publish to MP4. If you have access to Storyline 360, you can import your PowerPoint file and then record audio narration by clicking the Insert tab, selecting Audio, and then Record Mic. The audio recording process is very similar to Articulate Studio.

To sync the recorded audio with any slide animations you may have, just drag the audio on the timeline to position it. And once you've got it working the way you want, publish it to MP4 by selecting Publish, and then Video.

Here are some tutorial links that expand on the steps I've highlighted above.

If using Articulate Storyline for this project just isn't an option and you need to upload a SCORM package to Canvas LMS, you may find the community pointers in these links helpful:

Best wishes on your project!
