Screen Mirroring Software

Nov 21, 2019

Is anyone using a screen mirroring product to capture iPhone or iPad screens on a computer and then using those recordings in the Articulate 360 modules?  I would be interested in the pros and cons of any software you may be using.

All the screen mirroring apps I have looked at have the red bubble on top because it shows you are recording/sharing your screen. Does Reflector do this too?

Thanks,
Camille

Hi Camille. Hm. I don't recall having any issues such as you've described, but it was a while ago. I think the best bet is to give it a shot, download the free trial and see if it works for you.

By the way, it looks like you may have replied by email since your contact information came through. This Peek video will show you how to edit it out if you’d like! https://360.articulate.com/review/content/71556e36-9428-489c-890e-2df735768be7/review

Hi Camille.  Its been quite a while since I have done this but the new versions of iOS have built in screen recording however they will show a red bar at the top of the screen showing its recording.

The way I have done it in the past is to record it via QuickTime.  I was doing it on a Mac so not sure if the same functionality exists on Windows but if you plug your phone or iPad in via USB to a computer and then load QuickTime there were screen recording options in there.  You just hit record and then do what you need to do on your device and it will record it all (no recording bubbles or anything).

Other than that the only way I really found to do it was to screenshot everything on the phone and then build a video out of them in something like Camtasia or After Effects.  It doesn't give you all the fancy animations you see on your screen but it is quite effective.
