Strategy for creating ILT and Rise-based training at the same time

Jun 25, 2018

Hi all,

After a two year break, I'm back in the Articulate world and absolutely blown away by how incredible Rise is!  I love it!

I'm developing a course that will initially be run as an ILT for existing staff, but will eventually need to exist as an online course that I'd like to create through Rise.  What would your strategy be?  Previously, I'd just create a PPT deck, import into Storyline and then fancy it up from there.

I know my SME instructor would be most comfortable with doing a PPT for the live session, but I hate the idea of doing double work for the two audiences.  How would you experienced wonders approach this?

Thanks in advance!!

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Unfortunately there's no way to import PowerPoint presentations into Rise, so if your SME wants a PPT presentation for their live session and you want do to a Rise course, then you will need to copy and paste that content into Rise.

However, I do think that this exercise is actually useful because it forces you to think about your audience rather than just reproducing the exact same experience for distance learners. They have different needs so I think it's important to rework the content for them.
