SumTotal Completion Issue

Sep 12, 2017

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with SumTotal and SCORM Cloud.
Our clients use SumTotal LMS and we've had so many issues getting a SCORM Cloud Dispatch file to show completion on SumTotal. We have a pretty large course which is set to complete after a 40 question long exam at the end.
This is how the flow currently is:
Learner launches dispatch file in SumTotal
SumTotal retrieves course from SCORM Cloud
Learner completes course
Dispatch file sends data to SCORM Cloud and correctly reports completed status, grade and time taken on SCORM Cloud
SCORM Cloud sends back data to SumTotal which only reports pass grade and time taken, not completion status for unknown reasons

Things we have tried:
Different SCORM set ups: it appears SCORM 1.2 Complete/Incomplete is the only one that could work
Smaller test file: In fact making a short course with only one question weirdly does work on SumTotal which for the life of me I cannot figure out.

We are not allowed access to the SumTotal so we have to work through them for everything on that end.

Hey Alexa,

Sorry to hear about this issue you've run into with SCORM and getting your content up and running in your LMS. Here's a few articles that I think you might find helpful:

I think testing in SCORM Cloud (the second article link explains how) will be your best bet for identifying if the problem is with the SCORM content being created by Storyline or if it's a problem with the LMS.

If your course works properly at SCORM Cloud but not in your LMS, open a support case with your LMS provider to troubleshoot the issue. On the other hand, if your Articulate content doesn’t play, resume, or track correctly at SCORM Cloud, submit a case to Articulate so we can take a closer look. Be sure to include a copy of your project file so we can reproduce the problem if you do need to submit a case.

Hope this helps.. let us know if you have any follow-up questions. Best of luck to you :)
