Using Push transition to create a feeling of movement?

Feb 28, 2018

Hi all,

We're looking for ways to make elearning feel different for the learner, and I've been experimenting with the Push screen transition to make it feel as though the learner is moving around a single large screen. The only problem is that if we want them to be able to navigate backwards (which obviously we do) we need to duplicate every screen except the last in a section, because the transition type is tied to the screen rather than for example a button.

So for example if you go forwards to screen 3 you need screen 3 to push from the right, but if you go back to screen 3 you need it to push from the left instead.

Does anyone know a way to do this without needing duplicated screens? I don't have 360 yet but hoping to get it in the next few days.

Thanks!

Hey there Rachel!

That's a great question. Thanks for coming to the community and leaving it here. I myself have also created some "streamlined" interactions that use the Push transition to make it look  like it's all happening on one big screen.. alas, I also was not able to figure out how to go back without duplicating. As far as I know it's not possible, however, I've often been schooled by others in the community before haha so I think it's best if I say * I * personally am not sure it's possible, but if someone else in the community figures out a way, I'd love to hear it as well!

:) Best of luck with this project you're working on! Sounds like fun! Also, if you don't have 360 yet, you can download a free 60-day trial here.
