Yes you can reinsert your slides as Try Mode slides, even after you've inserted them as View Mode slides.
Here's how you do it... in the Storyline project file with the your screen recording, go to the Recordings area on the Storyline ribbon and choose your recording from the drop down that appears.
Once you click on a recording, it will open up in a window that looks like this:
From there click the Ste-by-step slides dropdown menu, select Try mode steps, and click the Insert button. Your slides will now be inserted in your course as Try mode.
