I mostly use CanStockPhotos when I need something specific and GraphicStock.com when I can be more flexible. GraphicStock has an unlimited download option for $99/year, but their selection isn't as wide. Dreamstime and 123rf are also good options.
You can find free photos (public domain or CC licensed), but I usually find that I spend so much more time searching for the right photo that I'm better off just paying $1-2 per image from a dedicated site.
