Will Articulate Video Encoder publish stand-alone video training?

Have training videos I want to publish through my LMS, not make them part of a PPT presentation. Is this possible with Video Encoder/Articulate Studio '09?

Hi Laura, there are two ways you can use Studio '09 to host videos on your LMS, one of which is to embed the video in a PowerPoint (which you don't want to do). The other way is to import the video into an Engage "Media Tour" interaction, which then can be published to SCORM so you can track it in the LMS.

You asked whether you can use Video Encoder for this. You might not need Video Encoder at all. If the videos you have are already in digital format, you'd be able to import them directly into Engage. If your videos are on DVD or VHS tape, then it gets a little more complicated. The videos on a commercial DVD might be encrypted, and in any case would have to be extracted. If you're working with VHS tapes, the tapes would have to be converted to digital format. I'd be glad to point you in the right direction if you can tell me a bit more about the source videos.

I hope this helps!

One other thing -- Video Encoder cannot publish to SCORM, which is why the video must be included in either PowerPoint or Engage.
