Attachment Block - Now Available!
Hey Everyone,
You asked for it so we built it - the all new Attachment Block. It makes it super easy to add attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, or any filetype) to your Rise courses.
Check out this video (recorded with Peek and hosted on Articulate Review, of course.)

Enjoy!

Hi, When we add a PDF using this function and click download, it opens automatically over the course content (in Chrome). There isn't a back button so students have to close the window and reopen the course which starts from the beginning. Is there a setting that makes downloads open in a new tab? Thanks.
Hi Jessica, great question! The web browser controls how downloads open, either in the same browser window or a new tab. There aren't any settings in Rise 360 that control this behavior.

Hi There!
Is there any way to add slides that the user can click through on the actual Rise page? Or does it have to be an attachment. I would like my learners to see the slides displayed and be able to click through them on their own on the page.
Thank you!
Best,
Tiea
Hi Tiea!
Are you looking to embed PowerPoint slides in a Rise 360 lesson? If so, I would suggest first importing the slides into Storyline 360, then embed them using a Storyline Block in Rise 360.
Let me know if that's what you had in mind!

Hi, I would like to come back on Michelle Allan's post:
"...when you upload a document called something like ''Document.docx’, you download a file called something like ‘wnjrnr4w_9C78w8h-document.docx’, "
What do I have to do so that the learner also sees document.docx in stead of the long name (on donwloading the file)?
Hello, Lieve!
Rise 360 used to attach a unique identifier to files in the attachment block, resulting in extra characters added to the beginning of the file name. We made an improvement to remove the identifier, ensuring that extra characters were not added to the file name when the learner downloads the file.
How long ago was this course created? Do you notice that the extra characters are not added to file names in a new Rise 360 course?

Can I just remake the attachment block? Or do I have to remake the whole
course?Lieve
Hi Lieve!
You only need to re-attach the document in the Attachment Block, then re-publish the course. Test the file download again, and you should not see extra characters added to the file name.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi again, Lieve. Thanks for the update. In that case, we'd like to take a closer look at your LMS output. Would you be willing to send us a copy of the zipped output folder by clicking here?
We'll delete the file as soon as we're done troubleshooting. Thanks!
