Auto Save that doesn't Auto Save Until You Save

Lost 4 hours of work because the autosave does not engage until a previously saved project is saved. This makes no sense and should be fixed.

I looked in the appdata folder and found autosave files from weeks ago and nothing recent. I suspect that autosave is not working at all. I've searched for .tmp files and found nothing recent.

If you have any suggestions on other locations to check, let me know.
