Different Coloured Speech Bubbles

After watching the awesome training session on variables yesterday, I was inspired to start playing.  After some tinkering I managed to change the background colour of all slides after the learner has selected it (this is to support my dyslexic learners).  What I'm unable to figure is, if I can have the same effect on speech bubbles.

My example - normal state is white speech bubble, the learner prefers a blue bubble or yellow bubble.  Is there a way of setting that preference and have that coloured bubble appear on future slides?

  • Hi, Paul,

Letting the user pick a speech bubble color would work like picking a background.

    • Have the user select an option.
    • Adjust a variable based on the selection.
    • Change the state of the speech bubbles on each slide based on the value of the variable.

Yes, you do need a trigger to adjust each speech bubble, so it's a bit of work. But that accomplishes your worthy goal.

    Best regards.

      Hi Gilbert!

I'd be happy to share some insight on this!

Currently, there is not a way to add colored speech bubbles in a Rise 360 Scenario block. However, we have a feature request logged that would give authors that ability. I've included your voice in the feature report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.

In the meantime, as a workaround, I would suggest designing the interaction in Storyline 360 and then embedding the block in your Rise 360 lesson.

Also, I wanted to share a related post from my colleague Tom who provided links to examples you may find useful.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!
