Highlighted layers keep looping
Hello all. I have this file that as the menu starts that voiceover explains the instructions, and then a series of Highlight layers engage at time intervals starting at 8seconds while th anarration is going on. I have set this up to happen automatically with a layer change at a specific time rather than state changes.
The user clicks any of the buttons to take them into the module slides.
once the slide is complete, the return to the main screen. If they make another selection straight away, no problem. If they wait for more than 8 seconds the highlight layers will restart, and wipe out the progress... it would appear.
If they then make a second choice, complete the slide and return to the main slide, their previous progress again is visible, but if they delay, then all progress will appear to be wiped out as the highlight layers restart.
What I want is the buttons to highlight once when teh slide starts, and then each subsequent return to the main slide, I want progress of slides visited to be indicated by button state changes, but I DO NOT WANT the Highlighted Layers to appear again via timestamps, this is the part I cannot figure out.
Essentially, I want the buttons on the right side menu to change colour only once when they first start the module. Please help I am super frustrated.

Hi MarshallHart700! Thank you for sharing your file! I see exactly what you're running into. I believe the solution here is to set the When Revisiting setting in the Slide Properties to Resume Saved State. This will make sure the learner picks up where they left off rather than having the timeline start over and not show the progress.

Thank you for this, I think this logic should have worked, but the result I got, was that when returning to the slide after clicking one of the seven menu buttons on the right side, the button that was chosen shoudl have a state change to visited (greeen), but it does not, and the blinking option layers still highlight after a certain amount of time. So I think there is still something missing.
When trying to set up the highlighting menu choices initially, I did this by making 8 layers of the main slide, but i copied these layers after all of the slide was set up so the audio etc. got copied over 8 times. I am not sure if this is my issue because the audio is now not repeating, but the timeline does repeat.
Thanks for making me aware of the slide properties I think that will be useful moving forward, but not a fix in this instance, if you have any other advice, I am all ears and friustrated because this is 95% where I want it to be, but not quite.
