Image link in Rise
Why is it not possible to add a link to an image in Rise? This seems like a basic feature.

Hi All,
I was also Googling about this topic and reached this thread. It is indeed a very basic functionality which we also feel is necessary to include in Rise.
Crystal, while the workaround you presented can be used for links out side the project, this still leaves the need of links within the project untreated.
Any update about where the feature request stands?
thanks!

Can we also expect a hyperlink option to a Text and Image to jump to different blocks inside a Lesson (in the same lesson). Thank you , Siba

Hello,
Just checking in to see if inserting a hyperlink into an image is now a thing in Rise? :)

Hi John,
That is currently not a feature in Rise 360, but please take a moment to submit a feature request here with more details about exactly what you’d like to see. Thanks :)

We again have had requests to have images as links from stakeholders involved in another elearning project we're building. Can I please get an update on this functionality. As creating text links is already a feature, why can't this simply be done for images? It's a standard function with almost every other authoring software I've ever used. Please can you push this to the top of the list. Out of all the other forums I've read, this one seems to be going on without any changes taking place. Building a storyline block just doesn't cut it. Slow, clunky, buggy. Please and I hope thank you very soon!!
Hi Jonny, thanks for checking in. Hyperlinked images aren't on our roadmap for Rise 360 right now, but I appreciate you letting us know you need this feature.

How can this not be on your roadmap when this request is over three years old?
What is the rational for ignoring this basic 'feature' request?
- JCBlanchardCommunity Member
Roadmaps nowadays are focused on accessibility. Forget the other stuff everybody needs.

Like many others I got here through a google search for this functionality and, like everyone else I'm disappointed to see that, after 3 years, nothing has been done to address it.
Sadly, there are probably 10 or so other threads just like this that I've happened upon that go the same way:
-customer requests feature-canned PR response from Articulate
-more customers request feature
-canned PR response from Articulate
-customers check back
-canned PR response from Articulate
-customers continue to ask for it
-Articulate rep finally admits that they aren't even considering adding the feature
And we all get to walk away thinking of band aid approaches, alternative ways to deliver content, and left feeling dissatisfied with the product that has so much potential...
A request like this could be allowed by simply letting us put in some coding that would be displayed.

I am looking for this functionality as well. It is June, 2021.

Yes, I think sunsetting Articulate will be on our roadmap too.

What are the solutions you're thinking of to replace it ? (I haven't really use other id softares other than the Articulate one's, so I'm a bit curious about the alternatives)

There's always captivate! But I haven't done any real research yet. We'll be expanding our team in the coming months, so it will be a good opportunity to get some new skills and maybe some fresh ideas about what's out there.

I'll add that I am very disappointed with the SLOW innovation and updates to Rise. It has so much more potential and promise, but there's been very little done to it in recent years.
Very basic UX and developer UX improvements haven't been made. I mean, I can't even save colors to my color palette?!?! I need to paste a color code each time. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Well said Martin. Articulate came up with great tools that have changed the way we work. Storyline keeps evolving, but it seems like the lights are on, but nobody's home when it comes to Rise. It's too bad because, like you say, it has great potential.
Hi Sharon,
It sounds like you have a need to hyperlink an image to another lesson within your Rise course, is that right?
While you can already hyperlink to other lessons using a Button Block or Button Stack, I'll let our team know you'd like to do the same with an image.
I appreciate you reaching out to us about this -- it's helpful to know how folks are using Rise and how we can make it even better! 😊
