Import Storyline file into Rise.com

Hey I just made storyline 360 slides. To make a course, can I import them directly into Rise.com? I just created a rise.com account. Do i need to go from storyline 360 to Rise 360 then to Rise.com or can i go straight from Storyline 360 to Rise.com?

If I make a Rise 360 course with embedded Storylines files, can I import these into Rise.com & still edit them in Rise.com? Or does the editing have to be done is Rise 360 only. I'm a bit confused as it looks like you can make courses on Rise 360 and also in Rise.com with similar functionality.

  • Hi Lisa,

    Great question!

Have you tried to change the width of your Storyline block? If you're comfortable sharing your file or providing a screenshot of what you're seeing, I'd be happy to take a closer look. You can upload it here or share it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

I followed these instructions, and in creating the rise360 course, the storyline project shows up, but it doesn't show in preview or when I just place the link in a different browser

  • Hi, Sara!

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue. I'm happy to help troubleshoot and have a few clarifying questions to start.

    • First, I want to confirm that you inserted your Storyline course into your Rise 360 project by using Storyline blocks. Is that correct?
    • Next, it sounds like you can view the Storyline block in edit mode, but not when previewing or publishing the course. What are you seeing instead? Have you tried viewing the course in a different browser?
    • Is this only happening with one Storyline file that you're importing into Rise 360?

Can you please take a screenshot or screen recording of what you're seeing? You can upload that here or share it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!

Yes I inserted using storyline blocks, yes I see it in edit mode but not preview and yes only one file as this is the first time I've tried this. However, I did discover if I publish to review, it shows up there. And this morning it is now showing in preview. Maybe have just been a hiccup. I think I'm good for now. Thank you for responding.

        Hi Sara!

Thanks for following up and sharing the feedback! So glad to hear your Storyline 360 blocks are working as intended!

If you run into any trouble moving forward please let us know!

  • Hi, Is there a method to prevent the imported SL text to NOT resize dynamically after it's imported into a RISE scene?

(The RISE text does not dynamically resize for browser width, but the SL import text does resize, and then the two text blocks do not match.)

Do developers typically avoid using any RISE text on a scene (page) where they have imported a SL slide -- in order to avoid this phenomena?  (Such as  paragraph block just above or below the SL import block.)

I'm not finding any other forum posts with this issue (except where developers have used variables; or where they did not turn off the switch for "auto fit" text - in the SL source file before publishing for the RISE import.

    Thanks for your help.

I opened a brand new post for this...in case this gets buried.

  • Hi!  If you do create a course with custom interactivity in Storyline 360, and use Storyline blocks to embed the course in RISE 360, will it play audio associated with the SL file once the file is imported into RISE?

  • If you use the add block option Interactive > Storyline and add a Storyline360 interaction to your Rise course, what happens if the owner of the Review360 link leaves the company, for example? Will that Storyline continue to be accessible and active in the Rise course or will it expire?

      Hi Lauren!

Great question! In short, this is why you want to transfer a user's content to another user when someone leaves the company. When transferring shared content, this includes Review 360 links which are what is embedded in the Storyline block.

As long as there is still access to the Review 360 course which includes the Storyline project, that course will remain active in a Storyline block.

Please let me know if you have additional questions!

Hi, which Story size (canvas size) is recommended for exporting to Rise?

      Hello MaxiMueller,

      Thanks for reaching out!

Rise 360 courses use responsive design so they don't have a fixed size. This means you can design your Storyline 360 course without worrying about how it will appear in Rise 360. You'll also have the option to select the width of the embedded block in Rise 360, so control how much space it takes up in the course.

There's not one Story size that we could recommend, so feel free to explore which one works best for you!
