Localisation issues
Hi, I am trying to upload individual language videos into each language section of my courses, but every time I do, it changes the video for ALL language sections. Eg. If I upload a French video to the French video of the course, ALL other language sections also change.
The issue is now also impacting embedding videos and ANY content changes I make to an individual language.
This seems to be a recent issue - is anyone struggling? It renders the function pretty pointless if this is a new change to the localization/localisation feature.

Hi NDE,
Thanks for flagging this, I can see how disruptive that would be.
What you’re describing isn’t expected behavior, changes made within a specific language version should stay scoped to that language. At the moment, we haven’t seen other reports of this yet, so we’ll want to gather a bit more detail to understand what’s happening in your case.
To help narrow this down, could you share:
- Whether this is happening in Rise or Storyline
- If the course was localized from the start or localized after initial creation
- Whether you’re seeing this consistently across multiple courses
The best next step would also be to open a support case so our team can investigate directly. If possible, sharing a copy of the affected course (or a small sample that reproduces the issue) will really help us determine whether this is an isolated issue or something broader.
Once we have that information, we’ll be in a better position to dig in and keep you updated.

Also having this issue. Adding a German video to the German version of the course created with Localization changes the source-language video to German.
Hello Lindsay5466 ,
I understand that you're experiencing a change to the source language video after inserting a new video into the German translated version of your course. I'm curious to learn more about your setup!
- Just to clarify, are you authoring your course in Rise 360 or Storyline 360?
- Does this happen with uploaded videos, embedded videos, or both?
- Are you experiencing this with any other courses you're working on, or just this one?
We are currently tracking a bug for similar behavior. It would be helpful to take a closer look at your experience to confirm if this is related. Feel free to share a copy of your course in a support case so we can learn more.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
