Need ideas for engineering course

I'm designing a very challenging course in Storyline. I've come to the part where we show the machine which is called the plastic injection molding machine. It is divided into two parts - the clamping unit and the injection unit.

This is critical to the course but also very dry. Any ideas on how to inject some fun or interactivity into the need to define the parts of this machine? Here is an image of it below.

I would like to create something more interesting than just a voice over that shows the machine and its parts. Thanks!

    Hi, Interesting machine. Do you have access to video, animation or 3-D models of moving parts, audio of machine parts at work etc.

    If you only have the static image you could add markers or a click to reveal or drag/drop either auto or user interaction and create some simple animations in Articulate - pouring colors/the screw turning/mold compression... You could sprinkle quiz questions along the way to engage/reinforce learning, even add user choice of mold and colors at start - if that is applicable to the target audience and learning objective.

      Thanks Ange! I just want to understand your suggestions so I hope you don't mind a few follow-up questions;

      1. What do you mean by pouring colors? Do you mean an animation?
      2. I have two interactions between 1-8 slides - one true/false and one board game to identify parts.

      Thanks!

        Hi, "pouring colors" hopper/granules, yes an animation to engage/reinforce - if it's applicable to and, reinforces the learning objective...

    Two ideas come to mind:

    First, use a series of markers to have the learners click and reveal the information you currently have called out by the lines and terms.

    Second, if there are sections of the equipment that are logically (and functionally) connected, you could make the image into a series of shades - so that each section is outlined in a specific color, and when you click on that specific section, the other sections fade to gray or are shaded and become nonresponsive to the user mouse interactions. And then in the respective sections, you could create hotspots to click that would show whatever information you want about that section of the equipment.
