New Custom Rise Blocks not Appearing in Review

I just created and used my first custom Rise blocks--excited about this feature so I don't have to jump into Storyline to create simple interactions.

One issue is that the custom interactions aren't showing in the review link I've created.

I can seem them in preview mode in the course but not in review. There's no placeholder etc. It just looks as if it doesn't exist.

Is this a known bug?

  • This is also happening for me (as well as other members of my team). I hope the issue gets resolved.

  • It's not just missing in the Review version. I published as a SCORM file and uploaded to the LMS and it wasn't there either. Pretty wild that this issue is present, TBH! Not at all okay.

  • This is also occurring with me. Blocks show up in preview and in a pdf export but not in review. Is there an open ticket???

      Hi all,

Thanks so much for reaching out about this!

I created a sample course and added a custom block at the end, which is a pyramid diagram. Here's a quick recording of what it looks like when published to Review 360. I'm using Chrome Version 139.0.7258.155. If you're unable to see your custom block when published, I have a couple of questions to help me better understand the issue.

      • Have you tried using a different browser or incognito mode?
      • Does this happen with any type of custom block or a specific one?
      • Does this happen across multiple courses?
      • If this is happening when viewing the course in your LMS, have you tested it in SCORM Cloud?

Since I'm unable to replicate this behavior, I'd like to test a copy of one of these courses if anyone is comfortable sharing with our team. We delete all files once troubleshooting is complete. CarrieDiRisio-3, I see you opened a support case with my teammate, Janina. If you're willing to share your a copy of your course with them, they'll be happy to take a closer look at what's going on!

        Hi Kelly,

I had tried different browsers etc. to no avail--but oddly I am now able to see it in review. I assumed it was a bug that was addressed in the backend. I haven't published yet but am hopeful that since the issue was solved in review mode that it will now work in publish.

        Thanks,

        Kim

We have the same issue with custom blocks. The blocks display correctly when editing or previewing within Rise, but once the course is published to our LMS, they fail to appear entirely. We tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions mentioned above, didn't change anything. Hoping a resolution can be provided sooner than later.

As a comparison, when we upload a Rise course with Custom Blocks to our LMS, all the Custom Blocks do appear.

      Using SCORM 1.2

        Hi,

I was advised by Customer Support that there was a known issue and it was fixed on August 26. There wasn't an incident posted because it wasn't deemed a widespread system outage at that time, and they only notified customers who reported encountering the issue. I re-published the course and it works fine now.

  • I just tested a course today in SCORM cloud and didn't have any issues. I tried SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 3rd and 4th edition. Would be curious what SCORM versions/LMS people are using where this isn't appearing!

  • I'm having this issue as well. REVIEWING in 360. (Haven't gotten as far as uploading to LMS) I have a custom block and it doesn't show up in Review 360 We use Edge. It's interesting though. The custom block (top image of the little boy), doesn't display in Review 360, but the images of the smiley faces is also a custom block and they appear. Two different templates were used to build. Is there a solution or work-around before I rebuild that top to just not have the curves :)

      Hello TracyWindsor-96

      Thanks for reaching out!

      • Do you notice any change if you publish a new version of your course to Review 360?
      • Good to know you're using Edge! Have you tried using an incognito window or another browser
      • Are you experiencing this with any other courses, or just this one?

If you're still experiencing this issue, we'd be happy to take a closer look at a copy of your course to see if we can replicate this. You can share a copy of your course within a support case. We'll delete all files after troubleshooting is complete.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
