I agree, this is a workaround not an actual solution. AFTER recording I had to look up why things were not lined up and now have to rerecord as a result.

Thank you to everyone who shared their experience here.
I've recorded with dual monitors of the same size and resolution and Replay worked fine.
I started getting the same problem when I plugged in my laptop to my monitor.
It seems Replay doesn't like dual monitors with differing resolutions.
I fixed it by closing my laptop screen (folded/keeping the laptop closed) and only recording from the connected monitor.
It was nice to find a fix - not happy about the time wasted though.
Hope Articulate can get this fixed. It seems to be bothering a considerable number of users for quite some time now.

Very disappointing they can't get this done.
They have a history of making products and not supporting them. Take a look at Articulate Online.

This thread is 5 years old now and it seems this is still an issue. I attempted to change my screen resolution, sure the mouse is in the right spot now, but there's a large amount of black space around my video which did not occur with my default resolution. It was claimed "this is being worked on" literally 5 years ago, so is there a fix yet?
Hey Jeff!
Sorry that you ran into an issue with this. I have seen something mentioned previously here, but I did not hear back from the user.
I do like the idea that you're sharing in that recording though :)
Curious if you are utilizing a higher DPI on your machine or Windows 7 as the link above explains?

Leslie!!! Awesome tip! I just tried creating a Replay video at 1600x900 and that works perfectly. It seems Replay doesn't like to play with 1920x1080 :( Feature or Bug?
Hi Jeff,
Glad to hear that worked for you. The DPI setting is one that caused odd behavior in earlier versions of Storyline and Replay, and something that our team has been improving to allow for high resolution monitors. So it may be in line with the development of that feature. Since Leslie had that other thread handy, I'll use both to report it to our team and leave it in their hands to say feature or bug.

The problem with adjusting resolution is that changes how the whole display looks ... So everything looks huge because the resolution does not match "best settings" for my display. It's an unprofessional looking workaround for me and I've had to download other screen recording software.

I am also having this issue but my "solve" has been different. I have a doublewide monitor with native resolution 3440 x 1440. Reducing the graphics to 1600 x 900 destroys the resolution so that's not an option. I typically use a 125% zoom - reducing to 100% resulted in Replay adding space to the recording screen. After restarting the program, it seems to be working correctly and have fixed the mouse movements. Pro tip for others having this issue: work in small filming increments and don't use the pause button. For some reason restarting the recording expands the filming window.

I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. I had to re-record my screencast dozens of times to finally not flub up with my narration, only to realize when I finally played the good video back that the resolution was horrible and my mouse cursor was way off. I want to cry.
I also have dual monitors, so I'll try it again with my second monitor turned off to see if that helps, but I'm devastated I have to do it all over again.- HeatherLofqu586Community Member
If you can, just use Camtasia. So much easier to use.

Agreed with Heather. This thread is almost 3 years old now. Frustrating, because this could be a crucial tool that we all would use frequently, but it's obviously not something they're going to prioritize.
