Storyline 360 audio not playing when published
Today (4/16/18) I republished some courses (minor edits, no changes in settings) that are no longer playing the audio when viewed from a browser or from the Storyline output. The old versions played fine a couple weeks ago and the new versions play fine in Preview mode. I have 12 courses I just republished with this issue and the client needs them available ASAP. Help!

Hello, helpful people!
I read through all the comments and can verify that this issue is still occurring with Google Chrome Storyline 360 Review. The audio file doesn't start on the first slide, even though I am running on the latest build of Storyline 360.
This issue does not occur via Microsoft Edge.
Thanks for any insights for getting Chrome to load audio correctly!

Welcome, AiLun. Thanks for joining this conversation!
When you launch the course in Chrome 71, is there a play button on the first slide like the one below or does the audio not work after clicking this button?
Looking forward to helping!

I do not see a play button when I launch the module. It starts when I click
anywhere on the screen (even though there are no triggers that tell it to
do that).Thank you!

Thanks, AiLun.
We have seen some reports similar to what you are experiencing and we hope to roll out a fix for that soon. I'm attaching this conversation so that we can update you when we do.
In the meantime, Chrome 71 added a Setting to allow users to override the audio auto-play restriction.

Hi, everyone!
Good news – we added support for the latest autoplay changes in Google Chrome 71+, so learners will see a play button when they launch or resume a course that has audio or video on the first slide. This change was added to update 24 for Storyline 360; check out all the new bug fixes and features here!
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to see everything this release has to offer. Let us know what you think!

This happened to me also. Here's the strange solution I found (which worked each time so far). First, publish you entire course on Review 360. Then publish again your course for Web. And the sound that didn't play now miraculously does. :)
But it's clearly a bug that needs to be fix.
Hello Geneviève,

Thanks, Geneviève! I see that my colleague Cleo was able to give it a test and shared a link for you to try his version of the course. It seems he didn't run into the same trouble with the edits he made there - so if you do, please let him know by responding to your case!

Hi!
I did ran into the same problem, even with the edit suggested. Only solution that worked was again :
1- publish in review 360,
2- do not close the file,
3- publish again for web... Sound works again! This problem occurred with other projects as well, that did not have the "media trigger" which was thought to be the culprit. It's not linked with the file, but a generalized situation.
That being said my solution do get around that problem. It's just a bit annoying and non-efficient. :)

Has this issue been resolved. I have the latest 360 build - 3.24... and I am having the same issue. Web output plays fine in IE, Firefox, and Safari but not Chrome.
I took an SL3 file and opened in 360. No changes, just republished.
Hi Phil,
Does your course not play at all in Chrome, or are you seeing the play button for audio as this discussion mentions? Where have you uploaded your Storyline 360 course to test it? Do you know what version of Chrome you're using, the latest is Update 72.

Th published file, bot web and LMS, will not play from local hard drive in Chrome. All other browsers are fine. Published LMS will play in the SCORM Cloud just fine.
Storyline 360 version is 3.24
Chrome version is 72[cid:image003.jpg@01D4C37E.97DD5EF0]

Hi Phil!
I was able to publish a Storyline 360 file and view it locally on Chrome 72, so this could be project-specific or a security setting on your machine.
I'm happy to hear things are working smoothly on SCORM Cloud. If you'd like some extra help viewing the content locally, reach out to our Support Team here!

Alyssa,
Thank you for responding. I have had other people test for local playback and they all report the same issue using the default settings in Chrome. Published version will play as expected locally in IE and Firefox but not Chrome. Published course will play as expected when uploaded to the SCORM cloud or local LMS but a great deal of out clients need the ability to play courseware from their local computers within the Chrome browser using default settings out-of-the-box.
There is audio on the second screen that does not play and the screen hangs. It should jump to next slide when media completes.
The first screen acts as a pre-loader and auto advances and the end of the timeline.
Again, I am using Storyline 360 v3.24 and Chrome v.72.0.3626.109.
I have attached the zipped published web files as well as the Story file. I was hoping you could take a look at it on your end.
Your assistance is appreciated.
