Turn off "show until end" as default when inserting new images
Without exploring all possibilities, it appears the best workaround for me is to
- add an image,
- shorten its time on the timeline,
- use that image as a "master" for additional images you want to add,
- copy that image as needed, and then
- use the "Replace Picture" option with the copied image(s) to change the copy to a different image.
This was the only way I could add new images (like photos) without each one showing until the end of the timeline. Adjusting that each time wastes a lot of time.
One could argue this is more of a workflow issue. You could front-load all of your images while your timeline is short (when starting a project, for example) and then turning off "show until end" for all necessary images at once. But, doing it that way may not be practical and could be confusing in large projects. Think about rapid prototyping a bad PowerPoint presentation that's devoid of images. You could spend your time redesigning the PPT before importing it into Storyline, but I tend to do more of the fixing/redesigning in Storyline. That's why it would be nice to have better control of the initial time span of images on the timeline.
Are there any other suggestions or workarounds?
