Wrong colour tick in checkboxes

Hi,

I think I might be going bonkers.

I am updating a file that has been created by someone else and in all the multiple response questions, the incorrect answer/s tick is white, when it is set to be black.

I've tried manually changing the check colour to black and I've used the format painter from the ones that are black to the one that isn't.  In the states menu, it shows it as black - just when you preview or publish does it turn white.

Is there an easy way to fix this / what am I missing?  Is it some sort of theme?

It obviously works if I delete the checkbox and create a new one for that answer choice (but there are loads of questions and I'd rather not if possible)

Attached story file and slide is published below:

Thanks, it's driving me mad!

PS - just seen on another thread that this might be due to upgrading from SL2 to 360 - this is what I did also.

  • Hello Everyone! ✨

I'm happy to share that we have released a new update for Storyline 360 (Build 3.77.30568.0).

In this update, we have implemented a fix for:

    • Radio buttons and check boxes didn't inherit color changes.

As a first stepI recommend updating Storyline 360 to the latest version. Here's how:

    Update Authoring Apps

If you have any questions, please let us know in this thread or privately in a support case.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Laura,

I see that at the beginning, first boxed is already selected, it has green outline.

Go to states, copy the states of one of the other answers with Format painter. Then change its Normal and Selected states.

I attached the file with the changes.

Thank you, I didn't go to edit state before using format painter.   Will fix the rest of them now.

I did think that the states usually got copied over when you use format painter without having to go into edit state.  I'm sure i have done this with buttons etc.

    Cheers!!

    Hi

    I had a similar problem.

I created a checkbox with the check colour set to BLACK.  When it published, it appeared as WHITE. I remade it several times and then set the check colour to WHITE and it published as BLACK.

So whatever you want, do the opposite!  Simple ....

Thank you, it worked for me, but not on others. It is clearly a bug in Storyline...

  • Thanks for this! I had the same issue and choosing a white check mark published to black. I see this original post is two years old and still a bug in Storyline. Glad to have a workaround.

I'm having this problem too. Is Articulate investigating this? It is 3years old. I have suggested before and will again that Articulate should concentrate development efforts for a while on fixing bugs and looking at user requests instead of introducing new features

  • Hi David,

Yes. This is an open issue with our team. This conversation is attached so that we can share updates with you here.

I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur. You can see all of our fixes as well as new features in our release notes here.

    Workarounds:

    • Use Check Styles and Radio Styles
    • Avoid using the white color from Theme Colors and set the Radio/Check color in More Color option
  • I also encounter the same issue today.

I wanted my check color to be black but it is white when I preview the slide.

Thankfully I read Martin Dean's comment above.

To Articulate Team, please fix this bug. Thanks!

  • Hi Maria,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us you're also experiencing this issue. I'll share your comments with the team and we’ll update this discussion if we have news to share. In the meantime, I'm glad Martin's workaround worked for you!
