Author name change and re-sizing an image

Hi, I have two issues:
1. I need to edit my author name. My surname starts with a lower case letter rather than a capital. I guess this is easy to do but I am making hard work of it.
2. I have created a front cover for my course in CANVA and when I upload it to the cover photo section in settings, it cuts off half of the image and the text is really blurred. It doesn't look like this in CANVA. How can I make the whole image clear and intact? I guess I have to re-size the image but I have tried various ways to do this without any success.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

1. The author name used in a Rise course is pulled in from you Rise account profile, which currently shows a lower case "f".
2. Rise will always crop the image used for the course background to make it wide but the height gets cut off a lot.
Thank you Karl.
The image re-sizing is really irritating. I wasted so much time yesterday trying to get this right. I am like a dog with a bone, when I can't get something to work. I ended up creating a PowerPoint image in the end.
