We use Wistia for our vast library of videos because of the privacy options it allows us to have on our videos. Can I embed or add Wistia videos to Rise?
Absolutely--just create a URL/Embed lesson or the Embed block type, and include the Wistia Fallback embed code there. Here's an example of what that Fallback code looks like:
Here's an example of a quick Rise course I put together using that embed code. And in case you're interested, We use Embed.ly to embed rich media in Rise courses, and you can read more about that here on our Rise FAQ's Page.
Are you using a URL/Embed Lesson or a URL/Embed Block? I used a lesson in the sample course I linked above, but I have seen the border appear around embedded objects in the block.
Ah, that would explain it! The gray border is there by design, but a toggle feature that would allow you to turn it on or off would make a great feature request. Thanks for reaching out!
Hi Paul, thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I have tried your first suggestion already and it tells me that "This video is not authorized to be embedded here". I've contacted our security admin team for this, just awaiting a response.
Your second suggestion got me halfway there but it pulls across the whole page, not just the video so it looks odd. Please see attached.
In Paul's second suggestion, you can change the width and height to accommodate the dimensions of the embedded content. I used a width of 100% and a height of 400 using the embed code you provided. Here's what it looks like embedded in Rise:

Give it a shot, and let me know how you make out!
Hey Alyssa,
Quick question. How did you get the video embedded without a border? I can only get my video to look like this, with a border around it.
Thanks,
Andre

Hey Alyssa,
I used a block. Any way to eliminate it?

Thanks for the feedback, Alyssa :-)
Hey Alyssa,
I have attempted the above, unfortunately I've had no luck with this.
I've created a Multimedia Embed block, then I paste the attached link into the Content link.
I see the message: Please enter a valid URL or iframe.
I am using the Fallback Embed type without success.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hakan
Hi Hakan,
I found that I can use either the URL alone, like
https://mycompany.wistia.com/medias/123ef456gh
or with the iframe tags in place, like
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://mycompany.wistia.com/medias/123ef456gh"></iframe>
I did not include the <div> or <script> tags. Have you tried this out?
Paul

Happy to try any other suggestions.

Hi Hakan,
In Paul's second suggestion, you can change the width and height to accommodate the dimensions of the embedded content. I used a width of 100% and a height of 400 using the embed code you provided. Here's what it looks like embedded in Rise:
Try that out and check the results.
