Can I make the interactive components mandatory in a Rise 360 template course?

May 09, 2023

We are trying to use the DEI course that already exists in Rise (not making a new one), but I want the interactive components to be mandatory before someone can move forward to the next section.

All the articles/resources I'm finding are for when you're building your own from scratch, but don't seem to cover how to do it in a pre-set template that you can edit.

Any advice? Thank you!

Hi Beth,

Whether you are creating your own Rise course, or using a prebuilt course, they all work in the same way, as they use the same "blocks".

To ensure that a student has attempted an interactive block, just below each interactive block, create a DIVIDER / CONTINUE block.

One you have added each Continue block, edit it (Edit / Settings) , and change the Completion Type setting to Complete Block Directly Above.

Now the student will not be able to proceed with the Lesson unless they have attempted the interactive block.

Note that Continue blocks are only in effect the first time a student takes the course.
