Embedding files in Rise

I am (trying to) revolutionising our onboarding process. I would love to be able to send our new hires a link to a Rise module, with all the forms they need to sight and fill in.
Is there a way to embed a form in a Rise, that the new hire can fill in, and then be retrievable (downloaded and saved) from my end?

  • Hi Rachel!

What kind of form are you using? If you can create the form in Typeform or Google Forms, you can easily embed that web form in a Multimedia Embed block.

Then, you can easily retrieve learner responses from your Typeform or Google Forms account.

    Would that work?

Google forms is a good idea.
That will work for internal forms, but not for the standardised government ones. It's a start though!

      Hi Rachel,

I'm currently trying to embed a Typeform quiz into Rise and I'm attempting to do so using the code, so that it embeds in the webpage but it doesn't seem to be working. Can you please help?

        Hi Salam!

Thanks for reaching out! If you're having trouble with your embedded form, you may want to check out this article for tips on how to fix invalid embed code.

After trying those steps, if you still have trouble please let us know!

  • Hi there! We've noticed this behavior too, and we're exploring a fix. In the meantime, if it makes sense, you can add a continue block before the embedded Typeform, and that will stop your lesson from scrolling to the Typeform automatically.

You could certainly embed the forms (e.g. PDF), have the new hire download and complete them.

However, the new hire would then have to email you the completed forms.

That's what we are currently doing, but with 9-12 forms per person, its hard to get all the forms back correctly, or at all! The forms are in editable PDF now, and ideally the candidate would be able to fill them in and we can retrieve the information, cutting out the need for forms to be emailed back and forward

  • I'm having the same problem trying to embed a form created in Typeform into Rise. We tried the tips on the invalid embed code page and that did not help.

Hi Rachel, would you mind sharing the embed code you're using so we can troubleshoot your issue? It would also help if you can provide a screenshot of what you're seeing. Thanks!

I was actually able to get this resolved through the Help Desk. We needed
to use the URL for the form, rather than the embed code generated by
Typeform. Then we added the iframe code to the beginning and end of the
        address. And then it worked!

  • Hi Alyssa,

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. It's good to know you're exploring a fix. The Continue block is a great short term solution! I've relabelled the Continue button to say: 'Answer your reflection question' which is a little clunky but will definitely do for now. See rough idea below.

    Thanks!

    Polly

  • Good news, everyone! We just fixed an issue where learners were taken directly to the embed block location when starting a lesson containing an embedded TypeForm.

If you have a course that contains embedded Typeform, you'll want to republish the course to take advantage of this fix.

Let us know how this improvement works for you!
