Holley is correct, the only way to get rid of the progress bar would be to disable the sidebar. If that solution doesn't work for you, would you be up for logging a feature request to tell us more about your specific needs?

I believe the only way to remove it is to remove the sidebar completely (in settings).

Checking back on this thread. Is it possible at this time to removed the progress bar?
Hi Emily! Thanks for checking! The only way to do it is to still remove the sidebar in Settings so that that the progress bar won't show up.
