Rise course to PDF on USB with working video links

Jun 26, 2023

A client wants to export a popular Rise course to PDF and put it on a USB drive so that it can be used in places without Internet access. By modulating the Rise-exported PDF in Adobe Acrobat I am able to create working links to video files that I store locally on the same USB, but when the USB is used on other computers, the links don't work (probably because the drive letter may have changed).

How would you go about working around this, is it even doable? I believe Storyline has had some variant of "Exporting to CD" that might be interesting, but how can I do this in Rise?

Hi Michael! Thanks for reaching out.

It is possible that the path changes the files are copied to a different machine. There currently isn't a feature in Rise to automate this. You may need to get into the PDF file and manually add the links again.

If you are able to share your file(s), our support team can have a closer look at your setup. You may upload your files by opening a case here.
