Translating RISE 360 course - .XLIF file will not import...

Hi All --  

I have used Smartcat to translate the exported .xliff file (it has been amazing, and support has been very helpful) -- the content was edited, tags are in place.  I have now tried to import the (Spanish) file BACK into my course to translate-- and it just keeps processing - for hours. 

I have tried a few times now.  One issue I am seeing is the exported file is a .XLF as opposed to a .XLIFF.    Could that be the issue??? And if so -- can I just do a 'save as' and change the extension? 

THANKS IN ADVANCE for any guidance -- or a direction to a troubleshooting spot, which I have been unable to find.  

(I have done a translation once before, and it worked beautifully.)
