Hello, John. Storyline interactions are self-contained within the block, and even if you add the same Storyline interaction later in the course, it will start from the beginning as a new interaction.
If you leave the lesson where the Storyline block is contained, the Storyline interaction will start from the beginning when you return to the lesson.
It sounds like you are looking for a way to have learners input text so they can refer to it again later. We're tracking requests for a survey style block, and I'll keep this discussion updated with any changes in that area!
