Why some attachments download instead of opening

Hey folks,

I've noticed that certain attachments download automatically instead of opening in the browser. Is there a reason for this?

My preference is for the file to be opened (and not downloaded) to make sure the experience is the same across all attachments interactions.

It's a minor thing, but as there aren't any additional settings I can use to stop this, I would like to know if this may have something to do with file size perhaps?

Hey Helen! Thanks for including the GIF. It looks like one PDF file is downloaded, and the other opens in the browser.

Can you help me with a couple more details?

Are you viewing the course Share link, or are you viewing the published course hosted on a web server or LMS?
What web browser are you using? Do you see different behavior when you switch to a different browser?

Hi Alyssa, I'm seeing the course Share link - but we are planning to host this on a web server.

I'm using Chrome on a Mac. I tested this on Internet Explorer on a Windows computer and I get the same results.
