Engage, slide transitions

Oct 26, 2015

Hello,

I am editing my slide transitions in Engage and need some help.

I want my audience to have to listen to all the audio before advancing to the next slide. However, I would like a 'previous' and 'next' button to appear so they can go backwards if needed.

So far I have only been able to figure out how to 1) automatically progress from slide to slide after the audio is complete but without the option to go backwards or 2) advance forwards and backwards without first being required to listen to the audio.

Is there a way to do that?

Thank you for the help!

Hi Stephanie!

There is not a way to have both. You are able to choose one of the following playback modes:

  • Interactive: This option lets learners freely navigate in any order. If you choose this playback mode, you'll also have the option to Show previous/next buttons on the player. (Interactive playback mode isn't available for ConversationGuided Image, and Media Tour interactions.)
  • Linear: This option forces learners to navigate through the interaction in the order you've designed, using the previous and next buttons on the player.
  • Presentation: This option advances the interaction automatically, in order, without any involvement from learners. Each step will display as long as it takes to complete the audio or video for that step. Steps that don't contain audio or video will display for the number of seconds you specify.

You can read more about that here.
