Formatting Engage

Apr 18, 2012

Hi I am really new to Articulate 3 days in fact -, new job, new software so no pressure!

I am experienced at developing e-learning content and have previously used Lectora.  I have been looking at the forums and tutorials and have the following questions which I can't see an immediate answer to.

Can I easily customise the Engage interactions to make them fit more easily into the presenter look and feel?

One thing I would like to do is have an open input box, with a submit or ok button which then provides customised feedback.  However later on in the course I would like the information the learner put into the open input box to reappear.  Can I achieve this in Articulate?

Welcome to Heroes, Fliss!

For your first question regarding a consistent look and feel between Engage and Presenter, see if this will give you what you want.

And I'm not sure you'll be able to accomplish the second part of your question without some Flash programming. There may be others in the community who can chime in for that.

Welcome again!

Hi Fliss,

It's pretty straightforward in Flash to create an input box and do things with the information entered within that interaction. This would limit you to staying on that same slide however.

I've done things like this in the past where you get the learner to type in information, then ask them to sort their comments into specific fields.

I'd be really interested to know if it's possible to  carry variables from a flash interaction on one slide to a different flash interaction on another. It seems like it should be do-able, but I don't know how!!

If you can do that, then you could feasibly ask someone to enter some content, carry on with the learning, then come back to their comments later on.

If anyone knows how/if it is possible, I'd love to know!
