Help please...Engage is not loading

Apr 27, 2011

Not sure why, but all of a sudden, Engage has stopped loading.  It starts, then throws an error message "can't write file", then the file is in fact inserted into the pptx, but Engage stops - it doesn't open to add/edit content.

Suggestions?

James.

Hi have a strange question too.  It's been awhile since I used Articulate.  Can you add more than one Engage Interaction to a presentation? I thought you could but after inserting one (Timeline), i went to another part of the presentation to insert a new one.  When I click the Engage Interaction icon from the Windows 7 Ribbon, it loads QuizMaker Interaction menu window.  I can choose Graded or Survey, but there is no way to switch it so that I have all the Engage Interaction options.  Have you ever seen this and is there anything I can do?  Getting a new computer and going to Windows 7 are the major changes that I've undergone recently.  I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on this.

Hi h mun,

When you click on the Engage interaction button from the Articulate menu, you'll see multiple options on the left side of the screen.  Pick the Engage interaction option from the left & you should be able to insert it.

If you continue to have problems, please post a screenshot of the screen that you see after you click on the Engage interaction button.

Thanks Brian. I normally do that and it loads fine but for some reason, this time it was "stuck" on the Quizmaker menu (pink band across top of window) and it wasn't giving me any other choices.  Since then, however, I restarted my computer and now it works fine. Yes, I can insert more than one Engage Interaction now.  Strange...  Thanks for the help!

Hi h mun,

When you get the "pink band" screen, this typically indicates that there are multiple AP6.exe processes running.  This can occur if PowerPoint was not properly shut down or crashed.  When PowerPoint restarts and you click on the Articulate menu, another AP6.exe process will start itself.  Thus, causing there to be multiple AP6.exe processes.

The easiest solution, as you've noticed, is restarting your computer.
