Next/Previous in Engage

Sep 21, 2016

Hi to anyone that might be able to help...

I am pretty new to Articulate and am first learning with and using Studio before jumping into Storyline 2.

That being said, I have built multiple custome interactions in Engage and cannot figure out one last thing:

I have multiple items that I want to require learners to click on. However, if I select to hide the "next/previous" buttons, the learner appears to be stuck in the interaction.

Is there a way for me to require learners to click on all items/pieces of the interaction and either 1. reveal the next button after all items are clicked to then advance to the next slide or 2. Keep the next button visisble and restrict when it can be selected?

Thanks!

Hi Laurianne!

I'm assuming you are working with Engage in a Presenter project based on your description?

With the release of Update 3 for Articulate Studio '13, you can now control how the Prev and Next buttons behave for Articulate Engage interactions embedded in Articulate Presenter courses. The navigation buttons can either jump to the previous/next step in the interaction or the previous/next slide in the overall presentation. See this article for details.

Hi Mark,

It sounds like this is for Studio '13? If so, then you can include the same functionality in a Storyline 3 course! The navigation features will need to be set in the Player Properties for the Engage interaction. We have a great resource that provides more details on this here
