Problems opening downloads

May 02, 2012

Hello everyone,

I am new to Articulate and am trying to create a short piece of e-learning.

I just downloaded the Carousel and Flipcards animated interactions and when I try to open them in Presenter, I get the following message;

Powerpoint can't read the outline from c:\\users\documents\myarticulateprojects\animatedflashcards.quiz.template.No text convertor is installed for this file type.

I'm afraid I'm not the most technical person - has anyone seen this before and can you advise me please?

I am also now struggling to open my Engage function? It comes up with the Quiz option only, when i click on the Engage icon? This was working yesterday - perhaps the two are linked?

I would appreciate any feedback,

Thanks

Hello Rebecca,

Thank you for responding. I just downloaded them from this site and seem to be having some real issues with Engage?

I have checked all my computer updates and just shut the programme down again to see if that helps?

I am using Windows XP and wandered if its a compatibility issue?

Have you had this problem before?

Honestly, I'm relatively new to Articulate. I'd played with Engage, but not yet downloaded these. So, thanks for the opportunity!

Just downloaded flipbook (was that what you used? I see that you said flipcard), created an interaction, and then previewed it successfully in Presenter.

I guess someone else will need to chime in regarding WinXP or other reasons you may be having issues. FYI, my OS is Windows 7. Also, Office 2010.

I'll be watching to see what the solution is...learn so much through this community.

Hello Rebecca,

There are two Interactions that I am trying to open; the first one is Flipcards and the other one is called Carousel. They are classed as community interations.

I have discovered that they were only introduced in January so if you haven't updated since then you won't be able to open them. It suggests checking for updates and if the updates don't appear then its a potential firewall issue. I've tried this but I still can't use them.

I'm really stuck now...

Thanks for your help, I will persevere...
