Question on Navigation and Engage Interaction properties

Nov 19, 2013

Hi there,

I have set the Navigation to "locked" for my presentation but I have an Engage Interaction that I want users to be able to choose which tabs they want to review based on their role.

Can I set my engage playback to Interactive, so that the users can navigate in the interaction at will, while still having locked navigation throughout the rest of the presentation?

It doesn't seem to be working for me.

Thanks,

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Within Presenter 13 if course navigation is Restricted, learners won't be able to advance past an embedded interaction until it's complete. An interaction is considered complete when learners reach the last step of the interaction. If you've set the navigation to Locked, this means learners can only view slides in the order you've designed. They can't use the menu to jump ahead or skip over slides, nor can they use it to go back to any previously viewed slides, so they won't  be able to jump past all the Engage tabs either. You may want to look at locking only individual slides that you want the user to view in their entirety - and you could do that from the slide properties.
