I have a piece of e-learning which I need to translate into Dutch. I have saved my powerpoint file as a different name and am fine with the powerpoint. However the e-learning contains a number of different engage interactions which will need new audio, screenshots and text. Ideally I would edit the engage interaction and make the changes but I want to make sure that I don't lose the English version.

I would look at making a duplicate of your Engage doing a save as, and place it in a different folder to ensure the two are separated and than make your edits there to continue working. You'll want to use the method here to change the player text labels and such. It's also worth reviewing the guidelines here on managing your project files.
