Hey Troy!

Sorry for the trouble. If you're publishing and the publishing wizard becomes unresponsive please review this article which outlines suggestions to resolve your issue.

If you have a Dell or Lenovo computer, you may be experiencing a known conflict between SoundMax or Corel WinDVD and PowerPoint, which can cause the preview and publish features in Articulate Presenter to fail (in addition to recording narration, importing audio, syncing animations, and adding annotations).  SoundMax and Corel WinDVD often come pre-installed on Dell and Lenovo computers.  You will need to uninstall these programs to resolve the conflict they create with PowerPoint.  Additional information on this issue can be found here.

If you have Avast antivirus installed, the publishing process may not complete. Click here for more details on this issue.

If the issue persists, feel free to contact our support team here. Thanks!

Possibly, if you've installed the 64-bit or Click to Run versions. Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010.  Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version.  Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version.  Presenter '09 also will not work with the Click To Run version of PowerPoint 2010. For more information, please review this article.

I have a similar issues on the trial version.  I am using windows 7 operating system, attempting to create a short 10 slide demo, but it wont let me add a second slide.  it keeps crashing telling me to close and start again.

1) I select the first scene

2) I click on insert new slide

3) Articulate storyline has stopped working - a problem caused the programme to stop working correctly etc etc etc.

4) All I can do is close the programme - this happens everytime I try t add a second slide.

? Frustrated?

Welcome to Heroes, Den!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're running into. Have you had a chance to walk through the steps in this article? It's also important to work from a local drive rather than a network or USB drive to prevent erratic behavior. If the troubleshooting steps aren't resolving the issue, please feel free to send us your files so we can take a closer look at what might be causing the problem. Thanks, and welcome again!

This program is extremely buggy. What I find is several issues but - issue 1 - if their inconvenient "RE-log-in or lose all work" pop up happens while you're editing anything, you are bound to have a corrupted file after that, esp. if you are using Engage.

Issue 2) If corrupted and crashes on publishing, 2 options are required -

1st OPTION - if it crashes on publish when you go into the tin can/scorm area to set the course ID etc - then try publishing it without changing any tin can..settings  (just publish without changing that setting, Save, then close file; reopen and then try it again and it usually then lets you edit that LMS tracking area e.g. scorm/tin canny etc).

2nd Option - if it relates to a corrupted slide - likely due to a BUG in Storyline re the 're log in again or lose your work' pop-up that corrupts things -

Then you have to go slide by slide to see what the BUG in Storyline has corrupted. Often your audio files etc. will suddenly go 'missing/can't find audio file' on at least 2-4 slides. And if you got bumped out of the system (despite logging in again) during an edit of an ENGAGE slide, when that annoying and buggy pop-up "relog-in or lose work" happens while you're editing (it should NEVER do this while you're in a file), then your Storyline will crash on publishing.  It simply WON'T publish and Storyline will crash repeatedly.

To fix this issue, go slide by slide, check all engage files, find the one that doesn't seem to be working (e.g., find the Engage slide that suddenly won't open, and chances are high its the one you were working on when the log-in system BUMPED you out of it - a known bug in Storyline on that 're log in' issue -

So if you use Storyline? Save back up versions every 3-4 hours or you'll be sorry when the thing corrupts, which will happen regularly if you're a robust designer.
