Attachments HTML links on slides don't open in Mac OS

Dec 11, 2012

Long-time Articulate Presenter users, first-time poster.  I've created a narrated presentation that includes an attachment (under Resources) and hyperlinks on the PPT slides and an attachment.  When I view the published presentation (either for the Web or CD), I noticed some unusual behavior depending on the OS in which the presentation is viewed:

- Windows (Firefox or IE 8): When I click on the attachment or any hyperlink, the content opened in a new browser window, as expected.
- Mac OS 10.8.2 (Firefox 17.0.1, Safari 6.0.2, or Chrome 23.0): When I mouse over the attachment or any hyperlink, the cursor icon changes to indicate it can be selected.  However, when I click on the link, nothing happens - nothing at all.
Any ideas?

Hi Harvey. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Hyperlinks can be a little tricky with specific browsers. Some of them have restrictions, if you view the published presentation locally. When you publish and view the content in the browsers, are you uploading the content to an LMS or web server before viewing the content?

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review this article for details.
If you're publishing to CD, make sure that you double-click the Launch_Presentation.exe file in the published output to view the course.
Thanks!
Christine
