audio sync in presenter

I have the latest version of Articulate studio and have just recently checked for updates and it says that there are no updates.  I've never had this problem before, but over the past few weeks I have not been able to use the audio recording, sync or annotations feature.  When I select one of these options, the power point screen becomes very small (but slide notes remain full size) and it opens another power point exactly the same as the one already open (small as well).  When I look down at my PP icon in my desktop menu, it shows two power points are open.  I've attached a picture.  When I try to record audio, sync animations or annotations, the button to start the action does not recognize that I'm trying to even click on it.  It froze up in this state yesterday and I had to restart my computer to get it going again.  The only option available when this screen pops up is to save and close.  What's wrong with it?  Any help would be great as I have a deadline by EOB today and would like to get this figured out ASAP.

Hi Leslie,

Thanks for your reply.  I tried this earlier this morning and just tried it again when I read your message.  I uninstalled, reinstalled and my presentation content is on a local drive.  It's still doing the same thing.  Double PP files come up and none of the buttons actually activate an action.  I read something about other software that can cause issues with this, but I checked and don't have any of 3 listed.  Are there others or certain drivers that could be doing this?
