The articulate player has an exit button built in this uses javascript, often this will not work because of browser security issues, it would be the same with your flash code which should work
I think you could do it in IE because you exploit bug in IE. You cannot do this in Firefox, the prompt is a security measure something like this should work

I actually got it to work using this code, however, I do not want a popup prompt, any ideas?
getURL("javascript:window.opener=self; window.close()");

"javascript:window.opener='x';window.close();"
