Combining/Import Artilculate Presentations

Jul 27, 2011

Is there any way to combine or import Articulate Presentations? I copied and pasted the slides, but it did not bring in the audio or the timings and such.

What I really want is a side TOC that links to all of the individual modules, but I don't want this:

I want the TOC along the side just like it is in each individual module.

So I thought I would just combine the presentations I have made into one mega presentation. But if I have to re-import audio and set the times and such... that is just not cool.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Tanis & welcome to Heroes,

The suggested method for merging two or more Articulate presentations into one is the following:

1) Open both PowerPoint files, and decide which file is the master.

2) In the secondary presentation(s), click in the slide view area, and press CTRL+C to copy all slides.

3) Switch to the master file, click in the slide view area, and press CTRL+V to paste the copied slides.

4) If you have recorded narration in the secondary presentation(s), export the audio from each secondary presentation using the steps in this article:

5) Then import the audio files into the master presentation:

This makes me so sad and quite frustrated. It is no big deal to copy and paste and import the audio. But to set the timings for the animations and the annotations.... sigh. I'm practically rebuilding the whole project.

I split each module of the course up into separate files for manageability and because I normally work in captivate and this is the way I've always done it. There I can just create an aggregate file for the toc or I can create a master and when I copy and paste a slide it keeps the timings and audio.

I guess I should have looked at this before I built the project.

I need to insert 8 modules of around 15 slides each, all of which are narrated and timed to animations or have annotations... and I want one side toc, not a slide with a menu. I was thinking I could separate these into two courses, so 4 presentations each...

But if this is the only method, that is gonna be a lot of work!

If you guys do an upgrade, I would love to see an aggregator or the ability to copy and paste between presentations and it holds those animations and annotations.

I copied 2 presentations into a third presentation and Studio thought it brought the audio with it (When I went to Import Audio it was pointing to the correct audio files.)  But it really didn't.  I had to remove and reimport the audio.  When I did that, most of the synchronization and annotations came with it.  I only had 2 slides (out of 32) that I needed to resync.
