Error messages in Presenter '09

Mar 10, 2014

The first error message appears after clicking on the Articulate tab, then Player Templates and states,

"Unexpected error; quitting".  The second error message appears shortly after the first stating, "Error:  Failure to initialize Player Template Editor dialog".  Any information as to why, or a solution, would be appreciated.

I'm confused, what I received as an answer or solution was a studio-09-update-10 (1), which was stated to be a repair kit.  After the download, I saved it to disc and ran it.  It stoped both of the error messages and just when everything seemed fine, the Index_lms would not play the presentation and the player.html would.  Should I complete the steps under the Window 7 portion of the instructions?

Hi Edward!

Were you viewing the content as your learner would to properly test?

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details.

At the begining this worked nicely, but after the glich, it seems this is down hill all the way.  More problems and more problems...  Now with this, stealthray.swf? I am getting a security message box that seems to be coming from Flash, warning me that stealthray.swf is trying to connect to the internet.  What's next, because I'm thinking maybe I need to drop this software all together before I miss enough deadlines to lose my job.

Hi Edward!

Thanks for the update. Are you on the latest version of Studio '09. We released Update 10 on February 11th and it resolved some tracking issues that had previously been present.

A great tool for testing is SCORM Cloud. This will help you determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.
The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.
