Flash Player dependency in generated LMS course

Jul 04, 2011

Hi Everyone,

This may be an elementary question, so bear with me.

We are evaluating Articulate Presenter to generate SCORM compliant LMS e-course. Our starting point is a navigational power point document. It is structured for a non-linear navigation, based on choices made by the learner.

We have used Articulate Presenter to generate SCORM compliant LMS course by publishing the power point using LMS section of Publish feature. We were able to load the generated content in our Moodle LMS server.

However, the issue we are facing is that we intended our source presentation to be non-linear and navigation based on user choices. The Presenter generated content is all Flash player based, which means that it automatically advances to the next frame/slide after the default 5 seconds. We have for now worked around it by increasing that time period. However, we would like to evaluate whether there is a proper solution.

We would like the content to be streamed/shown based on user choices/clicks and not on default advances to next frame.

Is it possible in the Flash content generated by Presenter?

Thanks,
Ather

Hi Ather. In Slide Properties you can change the auto-advance to "by user" and lock the slides you don't want to include for default navigation. This will prevent the slide from simply going to the next slide and allow for branching. You'll also see slide branching options in the navigation (custom back and next targets) - so you can go *back* to the root of a choice path.

Hope this helps.
